How exciting....my first ever post! I apologise in advanced for what will no doubt start off as haphazard ramblings followed by extended absences.
Let’s kick things off with a very short and sweet, meet and greet. Make sure to comment with your own answers. So, I can meet you too.
I myself love reading about my favourite authors, but let’s be honest: author interview questions can be a little repetitive and dare I say unexciting. Sure, we enjoy reading about an author’s inspirations or how they combat writer's block, but really we want to know the nitty gritty details that make them who they are.
So now for the important stuff…
1. Morning person or night owl?
Morning? Not necessarily functional, but I’m up reasonably early every day. Which I’m claiming because I’m certainly no night owl.
2. Favourite colour?
Green. Don’t ask me why I just really love it.
3. What book turned you into a Paranormal Romance/ Urban Fantasy addict?
I was never much of a reader. It wasn’t until I was in my mid-twenties that I wandered into an old second hand book store looking for something to distract me on a flight I was nervous about taking. I ended up buying a well-worn copy of a book called, The Darkest Pleasure by Gena Showalter. Yes, you know the one. Needless to say, by the time my flight touched down I was hooked. I haven’t stopped reading since.
4. Name one of your quirks?
Okay, but don’t judge me. I can’t sleep if the bottoms of my feet are exposed. They have to be covered. Weird right?
5. Beer or wine?
Beer. I know, it’s not as classy but I just don’t really like wine.
6. Favourite authors?
This ones tricky. There are so many there is no way I could list them all but a few off the top my head include: Gena Showalter (obviously), Kresley Cole, Jeaniene Frost, Darynda Jones, Amelia Hutchins and Kelly Armstrong.
7. Paperback or ebook?
This question may seem harmless but it may just be the only question in the world that book lovers will put down what their reading to argue over. I myself will always be a lover of paperbacks. Nothing beats the feeling of snuggling up with a copy of your favourite book or wandering the racks of your favourite library. Unfortunately, I now live in a small town that doesn’t have a book store. So I quickly came to appreciate the beauty of the ebook. Seriously, they're awesome too. I love being able to read anything I want, whenever I want, without having to leave the couch. So in answer, I love them both.
8. If you were going to be stranded on a deserted island what three things would you take?
1. A good book would be a must.
2. Sunscreen, because I burn easily.
3. My hubby, because he’s really handy and warm to snuggle up to at night.
Thanks for reading! If you have any questions you’d like to ask me, send them through! Don’t forget, I love connecting with my readers and fellow book lovers so come hang out with me on Facebook and Instagram too @callyedwardsauthor !
